Let My Frown Be!

Don't do stuff for me if only to take a high moral standpoint later. Don't rub it on me that you do stuff for me.  No, I do not have it easier than you.  No, I'm not suggesting that you do either.  Understand this: we have different lives. Though we are together, we have completely distinct ideas and hopes about what our lives should be. Freedom. That concept is completely non-existent from decision making in our day-to-day life.  That night you said, 'I love you more than I love her.' I don't know that... I could never quantify it like that. The fact, however, is that today if I do not have the guts to walk away from everything, to start on my bohemian ideal life is because she is my anchor point. The only thing making me hope that this life could be better, might turn out better than my idyllic dreams — not you, not my parents. Yet, if this becomes your reckoner to measure my love for you, I can only say it is wrong. Also, I do not know and neither do I have a...

Moments with her...

Image
I know it's been a long time since I last wrote a post. But I have the biggest excuse ever... I've got a baby to take care of! M is doing fine, she is at six weeks now and quite temperamental. I think she will be quite moody when she grows up. Now that I think of it, I think she will give her boyfriend a hard time. Like for instance, they decide to meet up at a particular bus stop and then on to a movie or something. The poor guy turns in a tad bit late (mind you, the key point being just a little bit late) then either she would leave by the very bus the guy came in or would go up till the theatre and take a single ticket to watch the movie alone. Poor guy! S says, I'm just projecting my own latent mean girl vibes on her. Anyway, what I mean to explain is that you get a millisecond late in feeding her, or her bath water is not presented in the exact right temperature or maybe her hairbrush is not moving in the right direction and you will have your ears blasted with the s...

Chorus: Rain, rain go away! (scratch that and say: rain, rain, come again!)

Waiting out the rain in a dhaba enroute to Sariska I'm sure you're hearing this everywhere, I do—in office, at home, in the bus, at the grocers and even the stray dogs seem to be beaming the chorus . Talk about national consensus, we seem to be having a huge one here. And predictions!  Why, how could you ever leave them out? Did you get these: –It's going to be a bitter winter this time around because the rain would spill over the coming months and... (The theory) –It's going to be a very moderate winter because rains would offset the chill of the winds... (The theory) –There's a high probability of earthquakes with all the water going underground and... (I didn't stick around to get that theory) Some entertainment, I tell you, and yet, everybody says the season is dull. My apartment building is taking it hard with growing water seepage. The ceiling is damp and green with mould, so when you lie in the bed and look up it looks like a galaxy of distant star...

Finally, I start my own blog!

Image
Before I begin, let me tell you that I very, very much expect that you read my profile (why else, do you think I'll make one otherwise). In any case, you'll generally develop an idea about me as you go through my posts. These posts will not have any smart-ass quotes, or extreme anecdotes but will simply be an extension of my life. And my life... it is not without it's fair share of incidents and accidents, oddball co-incidences, mishaps, embarrassments, miracles, dream-come-true-events, and also sadness and rants. So, whatever happens in my life, happens in my blog. I'm very enthusiastic about this... hope that translates into action as well. Nonetheless I love to live it up. I'm an avid reader, self-styled food connoisseur, travel junkie, movie buff and a sucker for good times; my partner-in-crime my husband. We've been together seven years now unmarried and married. (Which reminds me, we should be nearing the seven year itch now, I should be looking out ...
